Resident Assistants Rank Top in State

For two years, the Faulkner State Resident Assistants have ranked above other two-year and four-year colleges and universities in Alabama at the annual Radical Resident Assistant Conference.  This year, the RAs swept the awards and won the overall Spirit Award for spirit chants, oral presentations and video presentations.

More than 200 RAs from across the state participated in the conference, which was held at Birmingham Southern College.  Faulkner State Residence Hall Director Danielle Brown and three Faulkner State student leaders conducted presentations during the conference.  Those students are:  Ambria Reed (SGA President), Keyonna Wilder (Phi Theta Kappa Pi Psi Chapter President) and Sandria Lambert (Pow Wow Leadership Society President).

"The conference is very important for the RAs to attend.  It's an opportunity for them to meet their four-year cohorts and to get the opportunity to see where they may want to transfer after Faulkner State," said Director of Housing and Special Events Linda Caldwell.  "It's a great opportunity for them to network and team build."

As part of the conference, Resident Assistants are asked to participate in a community service project.  Faulkner State's RAs brought more than 650 children's books for a school in the downtown Birmingham area.  Just over 1,100 books total were donated at this year's Radical Conference.

Congratulations to the Housing Office and the Resident Assistants for representing Faulkner State so well!
